mineral resources have high economic importance due to their effective role in development and wealth creation. These resources offer finance and infrastructure to the developmental projects, meet the advanced industrial transformation and increase industrial capacity of the country. Minerals are considered as the most demanded products in the world markets.

In North Kordofan State, gold and basic minerals are geographically well distributed across the state. The geological surveys, geo-physical studies and chemical analysis proved the existence of substantial quantities of minerals throughout the state, including gold, uranium, marble, graphite, quartz, copper, dolomite, carbonate, zinc,  iron, lead – pure silica – gypsum – fluoride and white sand.

In addition to concrete quarries, granite rocks and the colored Nubian sandstone are also found. The state is characterized by a plentiful production of gold, where in Sodari locality alone about 8 gold mining centers, 17 squares for organized mining running by large scale companies rather than the  traditional mining, in which more 200,000 citizens are working. These minerals open up new horizons for industrial mining investment in the State.
